Aber Falls is so much a working distillery that your visit, basically, constitutes a business meeting. You’ll watch the distillers, fermenters and everyone else at work as you get guided around the mad machinery that builds Aber Falls spirit portfolio, then you’ll be let loose on the samples as you try their whisky, gin and liqueur collections.
A few thoughts from Gin Foundry:
Aber Falls is a full blown distillery, that makes whiskey and so there’s less of the lessez faire attitude you’ll see in some of the small start ups - rightly so, there are hot pipes, mashing, fermenting, distilling and a lot more that might be going on. Because of this, it’s a lot more structured, which is great as there is a high standard an you learn a lot for the cheap entry price, but also, things like video recording is strictly prohibited and if you have kids that tend to get “distracted”, it’s not the kind of place where that’s going to be okay so you might need to plan ahead…
