For Your Money:
Da Mhile is as much a farm as it is a distillery, so you’ll have to make your way around the cow shed and milking parlour before you get to the distilling equipment! This is an informative but informal tour, so you’ll hear candid tails of the history of distilling within Wales. If distilling is taking place as you tour, you’ll be able to taste some spirit fresh of the still. If not, you’ll be able to stick your head right inside the equipment. Everyone’s a winner, baby!
After hearing all about the brewing, distilling, bottling, ageing and labelling process you’ll be taking upstairs to the tasting gallery (a sight to behold in itself, with oak beams and the still column just about poking into the room) to try some of the wonderful spirits produced at the farm, including the oh so excellent Da Mhile Seaweed Gin.
A few thoughts from Gin Foundry:
This can be a tricky distillery to find. ‘Follow the sign for cheese’ seems to be the most commonly held wisdom.
