Based in Balham, South West London, the Hayman’s Distillery tour is an all-encompassing visit. You’ll see the stills, get some insight into how they are used, meat the team, get your nose on the botanicals and have a good chance to taste all of the spirits produced in the recently built distillery. Given that’s a tutored tasting of five True English Gins, that’s quite a few!
A welcome G&T is part of the package also, along with a voucher for £5 off a 70cl bottle from the distillery shop. Great value for money and a fun experience for those looking to do something different around town.
A few thoughts from Gin Foundry:
The new Hayman’s Gin space was a long time in the making and one that’s a glory to behold. It’s a proper, big, beautiful space that’s been carved up fantastically well into intimate areas to enjoy drinks and have a tutored tasting. The best thing (other than our poster that adorns one of the walls!), in our opinion, is that the Hayman’s range is a solid quintet, no weak links, no “fillers”. A tasting there is a tasting that everyone who loves gin would enjoy, as all of the category’s styles are covered. The range forces the tasting to spin off into conversations and discussion points around category’s history in order to explain them and because of it, you’ll leave having sampled brilliant gins and gained fascinating insight into where gin comes from.
